Is Pascal's Manale still good?

One of my first, and best, experiences in New Orleans in the early 1990's was Pascal's Manale. The wait was long but the fresh oysters at the bar made the time go by fast. The BBQ shrimp was the best. I know they were hit by Katrina but don't know if there are any differences now. I'll be in NO for several days beginning next weekend and wanted to know if I should include it for dinner during the week.

The last time I had their bbq shrimp they were really good, just like pre-Katrina. That's been about 4 or 5 years ago. The next day I went to Mr. B's and had their bbq shrimp for the first time and have never returned to Pascal. If Mr. B's quit serving bbq shrimp, I'd be back to Pascal without hesitation.

i like Pascal's Manale. i like that it's out of the Quarter. The bartender i had last time was a hoot. He had lived in the neighborhood all his life and told us some great stories. Lunch was great. we had 4 people, so we ate all over the menu. service was very good. full of locals. i like Mr. B's, and go quite a bit, but it is always so crowded and touristy. it's nice to get out uptown and just take your time.

Thanks to texasredtop and califkatie. It looks like I won't have the chance to get back to Pascals but I will try to get to Mr B's tomorrow for lunch.
