Do I have to toss? (pancetta & parm)

I picked up some pancetta (vacuum sealed) and grated parm. Tossed the bag on the counter and completely forgot about it. It sat out for about 4.5 hours. Toss or keep.....?

  1. Keep - in fridge. Lots of cooties-killing salt. You'll be ok. :)

          I won't be one of them. They'll both be absolutely fine - don't forget both were developed as a way of preserving fresh meat/milk centuries before fridges were ever thought of.

              That is certainly the usual way these threads unfold, but I don't think this one should get much disagreement. Hell, I'd probably be ok with those things after they sat on my kitchen counter for 4-5 weeks.

              I once posted a couple lighthearted paragraphs on the lifespan of these types of threads on one of these types of threads. I thought it was kinda funny to note the inevitable disagreements and how they devolved into unnecessarily heated exchanges, culminating with the locking of the thread. Predictably, the thread I posted it on was locked.

                Not disagreement here, I'd do the same as MGZ.

          1. Tend to be overly cautious in these matters, but I wouldn't think of tossing either of these items.
