I've not tried Bread and Chocolates, but I love, love, LOVE Bars Bakery's brownies, especially the ones with the caramel. Super yum!

I'll echo this - everything I've had at Bars Bakery is spectacular

    2. Mississippi Market. I just buy them one at a time. Getting a corner or an edge makes them even better.

      1. Depends on what you like in a brownie. I'm not a fan of Bread & Chocolate's brownies, but like their other items very much. My favorite "basic" brownie is from Wuollet and Birchwood Cafe has a few great varieties (like German Chocolate) but I'm not sure how often they carry the regular type.

        1. My vote would go for Salty Tart. Have you tried?

          1. How could I have forgotten Bars Bakery? I must be losing it. Besides great brownies, I pine for their Congo Bars.

Also, Wilde Roast Cafe deserves a shout-out for a great brownie, too.

            1. the plain and cognac brownies from surdyk's are delectable. i've taken them to phoenix when visiting my mother and we cut them into
small pieces and savor every bite. she is a fabulous bar maker and thinks these brownies are the best (me too!)
