Jamie Oliver's Fifteen

Lambowner Oct 21, 2011 07:11 PM

Heading to London soon and wondering if we can get a table here readily now that maybe the novelty has worn off? Last we heard, it was difficult to get into, and due to our schedule, we will likely be trying on short (day of) notice, if at all. Also, is it still a great meal?

Perhaps interestingly, the trattoria is referenced in the Good Food Guide (at a reasonable score of 3) but the main restaurant is not included in the Guide.

These reviews might help you decide. Personally, with all the great meals to be had in London now, I don't think I'd bother with Fifteen.

In trips past, we've visited Oxo, Moro, Cafe Spice, Prizm, Simpson's, Coq d'Argent, Geales and Le Tompette to name a few I remember, in addition to hitting our favorite UK sandwich and pizza stores. What would you suggest, Zuriga1 for good eats while entertaining? Beef and chops are a plus for our entertainees.

There are so many good suggestions here as you read down the board. Places I've enjoyed the past year are Pollen Street Social, Great Queen Street, and I always enjoy the Lebanese food at Ishbilia. If you are interested at all in high-end Chinese dining, Min Jiang is famous for its Peking duck. I also very much like the food at Launceston Place and Deux Salons.

I haven't eaten at some of the other favorites here... The Ledbury, Bull & Last (a gastropub) or Marcus Wareing.
