Dinner near World Cafe Live
Going to World Cafe Live in a couple of weeks and want to get a (somewhat) quick meal first. We've never been and would probably like to park once for both dinner and the concert. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks for all the help! Unfortunately, I was overly optimistic about actually having time to eat somewhere other than the World Cafe---so we sucked it up and ate there---and it was fine.Had a hummos platter, a pretty good burger and eggplant fries shared between two of us. I'd keep it simple, but we had a great time. And, by the way, if Girlyman is ever back there, don't miss them!!!

Good for you, you ordered the exact right things. Definitely a place to keep it simple.
And you bring back a good memory, saw Girlyman years ago at a very small place called The Buttonwood Tree, in Middletwown CT, with my date who is now my husband!
Btw, you're not by chance the person we called "still Don" at Northeast High in the late 70s?

We go to World Cafe Live quite a bit, don't like the food, and usually eat it anyway just for the convenience because we're often meeting friends and would rather have the extra talking time rather than having to allow time to get up and move from one place to the other.
That being said, sometimes if it's just us or our tastebuds just aren't feeling like compromising to that extent, if we have time, we head to one of the Indian restaurants in the vicinity of 40th St. If you're interested, I could get back to you with more exact names and addresses. A little bit of a walk would need to be ok, tho'.

Is the concert upstairs or downstairs? If its downstairs, you may want to just consider eating there as you usually have a per show minimum cost.

re: stillnotdon
I've heard only bad news about the food at WCL, mostly that it's mediocre chain restaurant food at best.
Next building west is the Left Bank, Tria is a great place to grab a glass of wine and cheese, small bites, or a salad or sandwich. You can park along Walnut Street and hit both places easily.

Well if its only 10 dollars its really just a 1 -2 drink minimum really.
The only thing I order there is the cheese plate, which is from Di brunos. You can do better, depends on the time and how far you are willing to walk. University City has a bunch of nice places,
I have only eaten there for concerts on nights that there is no point trying to eat somewhere else (such as St. Patrick's Day.. ). But the rush of everyone getting the food at about the same time makes it hard to produce good food, regardless of who the chef is back there. Jim Coleman supposedly was there for a drink of water and revamped the menu but I have not been there since then.
