Dinner Suggestions Please

saturday matinee so i'm looking for early dinner ideas. midtown manhattan preferably west side, but not opposed to travel. casual but not too casual. no preference in cuisine. and willing to spend more than the average diner. suggestions appreciated. thank you

    I like Swizz for fondue in that area (I think it's around 53rd St.). Great food and chill atmosphere.

      Early dinner: they're open all day starting at 11:30am
      Midtown West: check
      Casual but not too casual: check
      Cuisine: French
      Price: moderate, around $50 on food before tax and tip

      Recommended dishes: Alsatian Soup, Long Island Duck Breast, Squab, Beignets, and Pistachio Dark Chocolate Dome

        How much are you willing to spend per person before tax, tip, wine/drinks?

        Midtown is home to both office workers looking for < $10 cheap eats and people on expense accounts, so "average diner" doesn't really mean much.

        When is the dinner (may influence availability of reservations)? How many people will you be (the bigger the group, the harder it may be to find a table)?
