If you are looking for something upscale, there is a place right in Victor that gets good reviews (I haven't been myself), Warfield's Highpoint: http://www.warfields.com/highpoint/in... . Seems like a reasonable markup on the wine list, too.

See if you can get a reservation at the New York Wine & Culinary Center in Canandaigua. It's probably 20 minutes south.

thanks Dave I know exactly where that is as I've skied at Bristol Mtn and stayed at the Canandaigua Inn right behind the Institute. Forgot all about it!

Hard to go wrong with Dinosaur Barbecue. There is a branch in Rochester, about 18 miles from Victor.

Good BBQ (for New York, at least)... I've pretty much had everything on the menu and never been disappointed.
