Late Sunday afternoon dinner near Mariposa and Florida
Please help. We need a spot for a good, but not too lingering, late afternoon meal before an early Sunday eve performance on Florida St. between 17th and Mariposa. I don't recall much beyond coffee right in the area, though that was a couple years ago and things change. I was thinking of the variety of Asian, Middle Eastern or Latin American flavors heading toward the Mission area, but all suggestions in all directions are appreciated. One of our friends (party of 4 to 6) is having a birthday, so might want more than a "hole-in-the-wall".

re: Kayde
Skool has a very nice interior and food. Try the uni flan. I don't think it's really that close, though. It's a pretty hip place.
Consider Walzwerk. Not bold and asian, but I think an unusual treat. 5:30, and the parking on those few blocks is usually fine.
Slow Club - the menu is so very simple. Good stuff. Locavore before Locavore was hip. But it seems closed for sunday after brunch.
I miss the Universal Cafe more than all the others put together, but I'm not sure why. Similar vintage to the Slow Club. Opens 5:30.
Flower + Water opens at 5:30.

Hey bbulkow - they'll never get in to Flour & Water! (i personally don't like it anyway.)
did Universal close or did you leave the area? i wanted to try it....
I wasn't a fan of Walzwerk, but it's been 3 years. Have you tried Schmidts?-----
