"New" indicator persists

Laidback Oct 18, 2011 09:28 AM

I just changed to Windows 7 and when I read new posts, the "new" indicator remains when I hit the back arrow to return to the topic list. I then must hit refresh to get it to disappear. My older computers seem to automatically refresh just by clicking the back arrow. Is there a setting that I can make to remedy this?

Thanks

The short answer is (unfortunately) no. For a full explanation, see my post in http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/8046...

Thanks for the info. Do you anticipate there being a work-around for this other than going back to IE8 or will we just have to continue using the refresh button?

It is not Windows 7. It is your browser. If you are using IE9 that happens. I had to go back to IE8 because I hate that back didn't work. It also doesn't work in other browsers
