A Vegetarian and a Pescatarian- One Night Only!

My partner and I are coming into town for a wedding. The wedding is out in Buda, TX. We are staying downtown for one night and then shipping out to Buda for the wedding. We have dinners the other two nights we are in town. We won't arrive to downtown around 9 PM.

I have been thinking about Uchi, but am I missing something that would represent Austin better? Such as Tex Mex?

We also have breakfast on Friday and brunch/lunch on Saturday and Sunday.

Thanks!!

Uchi and Uchiko are always good choices. I know a lot of people on this board don't always love Perla's, but we've had good success taking vegetarians there. There may not be a vegetarian entree, but you can make a meal off of the salads and sides, the grilled brussels sprouts being particularly delicious. And their simply grilled fish entrees make me happy. There are quite a few options downtown that also might work, La Condesa coming to mind first. Eastside Cafe is a great spot for brunch for vegetarians also.

I've posted about it before, but Uchi does an amazing vegetarian tasting menu (omakase). They are very comfortable creating memorable dishes without fish or other meats. We tried this at Uchiko a couple months ago and enjoyed it as well. My wife like Uchiko better and I am a bigger fan of Uchi. Both were very tasty though.

Fish and vegetables aren't the strong suits of Tex Mex. Uchi is a fine choice to represent Austin.
