Another Greek thread...

I have a friend coming to stay with me for a week and a half in early November and am planning now... I'm adding a typical Mtl Greek dinner to the IT but now that my fave (Orexi) is closed and not wanting to do Milos... wondering what's second best?

Is Phillinos still good; I haven't been in a few years?

Better thab Faros?

Vegera myabe?

When I went to panama 2 years ago our meal was bland. I still don't have the vibes to go back and give them another chance.

        What did you try there?

        1. re: BLM

We tried pretty much everything. We were 8 people and shared our plates. Quantities were generous but taste wasn't present to my liking. Some of the people with us loved it and most didn't like it at all.

    2. Did Vegera last week and still as good as ever.

Do you know if Vegera keeps their terrace heated in November or throughout the winter?

I'm not crazy about Panama, don't really find it anything special.

        Elounda over Philinos or Faros?

So far the winner sounds like Vegera but depends on the seating as I don't rally like their interior space much...

Philinos is pretty much the same as it ever was, but prices have taken a significant jump at some point in the last couple of years.

Thanks, I might keep it as a last resort type of thing.

Me thinks the terrace is closed.... saw tables and chairs piled up along wall. Might deploy depending on the weather. Best to call ahead and find out. I've been to worse looking interiors. :-))

      2. Elounda is always nice. Mythos if you want live music. Orama for something more affordable.

I live so close to Orama, I really should try it one of these days.

        2. I liked Ella Grill on Amherst at Rene Levesque. Nice ambiance and service along with a nice menu.

I second the suggestion for Ella Grill, it never disappoints me; less expensive than Milos.

          2. One of my favourites is Parthenon on Van Horne, corner Cote des Neiges.

Agree on that one. simple but tasty. You should try Nostos on l'Acadie verry tasty souvlaki.

If you do go to parthenons try the grilled calmaries stuffed with feta cheese and vegetables as an appetizer. Simply divine.
