Where can I buy this in Philly? I'm looking for a bottled apple cider like we would get at crepe places in France. It comes in a wine bottle and has fizz. I struck out at the state store. Thank you!

It is sold with beers. Try the foodery in Philadelphia, either location. Alternatively I know that it is served at certain restaurants, including Beau Monde which is just off South Street.

The state store in Garces Trading Co had a GREAT bottle last year - I think it was from Spain. Dry and delicious!

I forgot about Garces Trading Co. I struck out at the beer distributor. But we are going to NYC in a couple of weeks and found a place that has a selection from France. We had brought back a couple of bottles from France and it was really nice to serve at Thanksgiving

Daisy you are unlikely to find it at a beer distributor where they sell things in cases. I have seen good dry cider at the Foodery, which is a specialty beer bottleshop.

Last month had a delicious cider on tap, served from a cask at the Gingerman in Manhattan. Well worth a trip if you have never been.

Thanks, Gingerman sounds great. This is the place that we're going to do some shopping. http://www.astorwines.com/SearchResul...

Monk's and Eulogy carry this type of cider, and I believe they both have take out licenses.

Eulogy also has an American version in a 16 oz. bottle that's very good.

Today's Inquirer has a pretty good article on hard ciders including names of some local brewers as well as retail outlets. Worth looking at.
