Well, my family and I ventured to the new Pavilion Restaurant last evening. We wanted to see who took over and is the food just as good as the last owners.

My conclusion: The owners and cooks are different, the wait staff is still the same, the food is pretty good, the chilli oil is better than before, the free dessert for authentic Chinese dinners is still tau-fu fah (soya bean jello) but not as good as the first owners.

Talking more about the food...we decided to try the 4 dish meal from the Chinese menu. The price is $78 before tax. It started off with a thick soup with sliced mushrooms, slicked chicken, special Chinese fungus etc. The soup was delicious and came with red wine vinegar and white pepper - a must for the soup. The next dish up was the Stir fry fish fillet with sliced celery, carrot and ginger. Quite delicious! Next up was the Stir fry beef with choy sum - quite good and a huge helping of choy sum, a little stingy on the beef. Next up was the Crispy Chicken with Fried Garlic Chips - OMG!! I've never had such tender chicken before. Usually the breast meat would be tough but not these guys, the chicken is so soft and tender and so appetizing. The last dish made a grand entrace - Lobster, on a bed of crispy noodles, cooked in a ginger, green onion and garlic sauce. The lobster was tender and easy to eat. Dessert: Tau-Fu Fah - my rating is not as good as the first owners. They still need to perfect the art of making perfect Tau-Fu Fah.

A really good deal for $78!

The other dish I want to try is their Peking Duck. I loved the first owner's Peking Duck. Let's see if these new guys can make it as good as the first owners'.

I would add it to the database but the process has always been a big PITA for me.
