Fish Oil

Am I the only one who actually LIKES the taste of Fish Oil? I know that most people are trying to cover it up and buy caps that are lemon flavored to hide it, but I have actually found myself opening up the caps and mixing the oil in for dressing salads (with some mustard, garlic, onion, salt, and pepper) and such lately (i only do this when I'm making a single serve salad for myself, cuz I'm the only one I know who likes this flavor though)

Am I just a crazy health/fish nut or are there others out there?

When I was young, I was fed a small spoon of cod liver oil for my health - ugh!

I bought Trader Joe's ("burpless") fish oil...long story short, 3 days later had a massive all-over-body allergic reaction. Almost ER level. So, I admire your commitment, no can do for me now.

Oh my, can't stand the burp of fish oil a few hours after taking it. Read to freeze the capsule, and that's what we do now, no more problems. Glad for you that you like it1

I'm lucky to have never experienced it.

i used to when i tried using the flavored Coromega "pudding" packets. citrus- or chocolate-flavored fish oil repeating on you is even more unpleasant than the plain fish oil.

We take omega 3 caps but wouldn't think to open them. Now eating salmon belly meat is another story. Love it

I like the taste of the fishy fishoil fish, and have been doing salmon oil for a while but decided to switch us to krill oil, since that's where the axanthablablabla comes from. I love the stuff from Vital Choice, but Costco has krill oil, only they decided to inject a vanilla flavoring which is really putrid. I mean, gonna eat krill oil? Why make it vanilla flavored? Makes it double gross. But the price point is a factor, not to mention the availability

which brand of capsules? some are made from sardine or anchovy oil, so of course they taste good! but the cod liver oil ones, not so much.

                  I don't mind it, but I wouldn't say I like it.

I use the same brand myself and for my dogs and yes, you're crazy. Or you're a dog who can type; the dogs chew the gelcaps before swallowing them. Fortunately I don't often burp it. I hope you are not inflicting your creations on anyone else.

GHG made a good point IMO. i would use sardine oil for a dressing anytime given the chance, so why would this be different?

precisely what i was thinking :) and i actually had the Kirkland capsules in mind when i mentioned sardine & anchovy - it's one of the few good brands that doesn't use cheap, nasty salmon, cod liver or unidentified oils.

yeah I am almost always really happily surprised by the kirkland brand. especially in the pharmacy. the fact that all signature products are USP certified is awesome... especially for the price point
