Taco Festival - Dos

Are any CHers going to the taco festival tomorrow? How was it last year?

It looks great and my whole family was planning on hitting it. Any sleeper taco slingers we should look out for?

Can you explain something? When you went, I assume you just bought tickets that would be used to pay for food at booths, right, without an entry fee? If so, why did the barricade the place off?

I would assume that the event organizers were required to put up barricades because alcohol was being served at the event. If organizers can't control ingress to and egress from the areas where alcohol is being served and consumed, then they have a harder time controlling who gets served and keeping people from wandering off-site with open containers.

Yes, and the event entry fee tix were separate from actual taco tix. The festival rocked. It was great - the food was consistently excellent. My favs were the Herb Box sweet potato taco, the duck taco from a pink truck that I cannot remember the name (sorry), and all tacos from the Distrito stand. Washed down with cold San Tan Devil's Ale and some live music, it was a great day!

The pink truck might have been the T-Licious Teazy Taco truck:

Yeah, that was it. Big hit, great duck tacos, good shrimp tacos, and very good pork tacos. Nice ladies too.
