We ate at the boathouse a few months ago. OK seafood, good view in the summer. Good drinks.

I'm not sure what cuisines you have in mind or where in Ithaca you'll be, but here are some places in the downtown area that I like:
Just a Taste (tapas)
Madeline's (Asian fusion but also the best desserts in Ithaca by a mile...even if you go elsewhere for dinner, you might stop in here for dessert and coffee)
The Ithaca Ale House (pub grub and a great beer selection...can get very loud at peak hours, though, and pretty much all day Saturday and Sunday since they have football on all the TVs at the bar)
Bandwagon Brewpub (a nicer version of pub grub, plus they brew their own beer)
Taste of Thai (Thai)
Moosewood (vegetarian)
Sushi O Sake (Japanese)
Viva Taqueria (Mexican--I'm not quite as enthusiastic about this place as some of the others I've mentioned, but it's still good)

I third Just A Taste, Taste of Thai, and Viva Taqueria. Those are some of my favorites. I also like Maxie's Supper Club for Cajun/seafood.

We ate at Just A Taste last Friday and really enjoyed it. We also liked their "flights of wine" idea; it's fun to try a sampling of a number of different wines in a "theme". The food was all great, and the backyard patio a very pleasant place to spend the evening.

((if you search "Ithaca" or "Finger Lakes" , many people have done so.))

I did check those boards, but a lot of the comments are less than recent (2007) or else there will be a recommendation for a specific restaurant and then someone replying that that restaurant has closed.

Thumbs up for Bandwagon - bonus pts for lots of good housemade beer options. Fine Line Bistro is a newer place - very good also. Mercato Italian Kitchen has been getting a lot of buzz - haven't been yet. Also, we like Just a Taste and Madeline's desserts. Maxie's is fun.

I know the OP said Ithaca, but I would have to say that Hazelnut Kitchen is close and worth the trip . . . http://www.hazelnutkitchen.com/ It's my favorite in the Ithaca area and a must go every time I'm around.
