Dave Matthews wine

rockandroller1 Oct 13, 2011 10:21 AM

Hi all - am wondering if anyone has tried/has an opinion about any of the Dave Matthews wines. Yes, the DMB guy. He owns a winery in Virginia called Blenheim vineyards, and I am also interested in the California wines he has partnered with another winery on producing, called Dreaming Tree wines. Am considering giving a box of these as a Christmas present to someone who likes cheap to decent table wine but nothing fancy (mr. RNR).

cellartracker.com is a good source for impressions of wines posted by the general public.

I own a farm-to-table restaurant in Bethlehem NH called Terra On Main.

I'd like to consider some of the Dave Matthew's wines for my wine list, but I can't find any real reviews. I'd love some feedback.

If, by "real reviews" you mean those from Wine Enthusiast, Wine Spectator, and Robert Parker" it's not very likely that a Virginia wine would get coverage there, even if it is Dave Matthews' winery. In fact, that connection might have the opposite effect unless the wine is really good.

If you go to the site I posted above you will get 30+ tasting notes from 'real people'. http://www.cellartracker.com/list.asp?Table=Notes&szSearch=blenheim The Blenheim search should come up at that link but just type in the name if it doesn't.

Or I found these on Google:

Have you checked the latest issue of Food and Wine? IIRC, there's a short write up that might give you some leads.
