WOW-- What's HAPPENING in Long Valley...

Within the past several weeks weeks, 2 VERY OUTSTANDING new spots have opened in Long Valley. Along with, and right next to, Long Valley Brew Pub-- a longtime solid culinary but mostly pub-- citizen, Splash, and the really amazing Valley Shepherd Creamery-- an incredible goat/sheep cheese maker-- wow. Long Valley has become a true destination for food-lovers.

The 2 new spots are: Pandam Room's NEW restaurant, from the fabled Chef Jai of Pandam Room in Hacketstown-- andMaria's-- a breakfast lunch spot, VER Italiano autentico-- with coffee, antipasti, and incredible artisanal breads and baked goods-- run by the charismatic and all-ways- wonderful Maria.

I wiull be reviewing these 2 new spots in the next few days. Meanwhile-- Long Valley is a beautiful place in autumn, great roads and many farms nearby--- a great place to check out...

Jodell, thanks for the update. I can't keep up with the restaurant turnovers in Long Valley. There's supposed to be a new place there called Herbie's Fresh. Do you know anything about it?

That was Liotta's, a 'bbq', before that a Brazillian/Portugese grill-- all within the past 9 months. Not one of them ever seemed busy-- but Maria's and Pandam (last night) were buzzing. Both the new spots have a loyal following (Maria's from Chester, Pandam from Hacketstown) and both rate very high on the culinary scale, owners have strong passion for what they are doing-- and are also owner/chef's-- another big factor in excellence. Hit the Valley creamery, about a mile away, a Saturday lunch/graze will be highly rewarding, leaf-peeping not a factor...
