-how long should i expect wait for a table and how long should i budget for dinner? theather is around 45th and 8th ave.
-how much for 2 people (no alcohol)
-what are some dishes we should try?

  1. A meal will take about 60-75 minutes at either, IIRC.

Txikito takes reservations, and is closer to the theatre district, so that would be my choice. I'd ballpark $40-50pp there, but I've not had a wine-less meal there in quite a while. At my last meal there, we really enjoyed the fries with cod mayo, foie terrine, Arraultza pintxo, lamb meatballs, grilled fish with jamon, and suckling pig. The latter two being daily specials.

After the Tertulia NYT review, even a wait on a weekday night at 7pm was an hour for two, last time I went.

    1. I feel like I can respond fairly accurately to your question as I just ate at Tertulia at 5:30 on Saturday (after going to a matinee). Got to the door around 5:20 and others were already waiting outside. By 5:30, the line was so big people had to wait to be seated. We were about the 4th in line so we were seated right away.

Food was delicious. Had almost everything on the menu and all was fabulous. The smoked amberjack, pork cheek bites, croquetas, and a special jamon iberico were highlights.
