Where to go in 2012 (for fine dining)?

So as the year is coming to a close I'm looking forward to compiling a list of must do's for 2012. This list will be for special occasion, price doesn't matter type restaurants. Any cuisine except sushi or Indian.

Some of my favorite places along those lines have been Blue Hill (both), Annisa, Picholine, Eleven Madison Park, Gramercy Tavern, Tomate Rouge, Momofuku Ko, and Brooklyn Fare. I've also truly enjoyed The Modern, Per Se, WD-50, Jean Georges, Corton, Gordon Ramsey at the London, Bouley, Le Bernadine Gotham Bar and Grill. I'm finishing out this year with Del Posto and Romera.

Daniel has been on my list for a while but other than that I'm not sure how to start my New Year of dining adventures.

Many of the places I've dined at listed above have come from your suggestions so please know I appreciate all the help and guidance. Thanks.

I agree with nmprisons re: Tocqueville. It should definitely be on your fine dining agenda for 2012. Others I would include: SHO Shaun Hergatt (just bumped up to two well-deserved Michelin stars), Cafe Boulud (better, imo, than Daniel), Adour Alain Ducasse, Ai Fiori, and La Grenouille.

Glad you have had an opportunity to sample such a wonderful selection of the city's restaurants.

You might end up disappointed at Daniel (I would return to Per Se, EMP, Ko, Blue Hill, Picholine, The Modern, Corton, WD-50, Jean Georges, Bouley, Le Bernardin, and Gotham before I went there). I would try out some of the high-end japanese options, like Kyo Ya, or check out Tocquville in the New Year.
