Now this is interesting!

Following weeks of rumors, Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, a popular restaurant in New York, announced Tuesday that it plans to open a branch in the South End next year.

John Stage, the owner, said he signed a 20-year lease last week with Harbor Point developer Building and Land Technology to occupy 7,500 square feet of ground floor retail space at 845 Canal St.

Looking at preliminary architectural drawings for this project. This is going to be quite the intriguing looking restaurant and a definite shot in the arm for that upcoming area of town.

    Can't wait until it opens.

        Not as of yet.

Also, Le Pain Quotidien and Harlan Social are also coming to the south end in 2012. Not sure if those qualify as unChow worthy chains or not...but...

          So you work for BLT?
Fabulous, another mediocre, overpriced chain store. Not familiar with Harlan, but the one time I went to Le Pain in New Canaan for a cup of coffee and a roll I received a bill for $7.50. There is, apparently, no such thing as a "roll" at le pain. They have "an order of three"

No. But I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
