Ottawa Restos Not To Miss?
Any Ottawa restaurants that I shouldn't miss during my upcoming trip? Recommendations and thoughts appreciated!
Thanks, Hounds!

sorry if this is really late but in addition to canada259's list I would Play, Wellington Gastropub, Navarra and I am really biased to Aroma Meze.
Lots of great eating in Ottawa.

re: ceebee1
ceebee1, are there any restaurants you'd recommend in Orleans? Some friends just moved to Orleans, and I'd love to give them a shortlist of decent places for Greek, pizza, pub food, Chinese take-out, Indian take-out or anything else that might be worthwhile in the Orleans area.

re: ceebee1
Thanks ceebee1. I'll send them the link to the Ottawa Foodies website.
Also, thanks for mentioning Aroma Meze in your earlier post. Which Aroma Meze location do you prefer?

re: prima
Hi Prima
Happy New Year.
For lunches, I like "Lunch" (also known as Think Lunch). There's one on Bank St near Slater and one on Slater between Elgin and Metcalfe. Great chicken club sandwich (sliced chicken breast and good bread - no deli meats!) and good soups. Also good are Bowich at 155 Bank (near Laurier) and there's a couple of nice places on Elgin south of Somerset (one is directly across from St. John's Church - the name escapes me) and the other one is a little further south - Boko. I have a colleague who swears by Bread and Sons at 195 Bank (near Gloucester) but I've never been there.
If I feel like getting some exercise and some fresh pita, I head over to the Middle East Bakery on Somerset at Percy (just east of Bronson). I like their tabouleh and tzatiki, add some pita and there's the perfect lunch. Everything's made on site.

re: ceebee1
Thanks for your suggestions, ceebee1.
Ended up trying the veggie kibbeh (stuffed with spinach and chickpeas), zaatar pita, and hot cheese pita at Middle East Bakery (neat place! so is the Middle Eastern shop next door). Also sampled some bbq pork, bbq duck and bbq pork buns from Kowloon Market. Have Jadeland (a former Ottawa-based friend's suggestion) on my to try list for a Chinese restaurant in Chinatown.
Ordered the pulled chicken taco brunch special at the Manx, and pollo parmigano at Vittoria Trattoria. Especially friendly and attentive service from Kevin at Rivergate location of Vittoria Trattoria.
Surprisingly delicious breakfasts at the Arc Hotel (free to iprefer loyalty cardholders- free to enroll!).
Hoping I get around to trying Aroma and some other suggestions next time I'm in Ottawa.
