Bellingham: Stone Pot Korean Restaurant open again!

The Herald has a photo taken at Stone Pot Korean restaurant online tonight. Looking forward to checking out their new digs and eating a veggie pancake. Yum! I hope they can make it in their new location. Lots of restaurants have come and gone in that space on Magnolia. Good luck to them!

Laura, what do you like there besides veggie pancake? We've enjoyed bim bim bop and bulgogi. I think we did a noodle soup too, but I don't recall what we thought of it. The banchan are also fun. I love the kimchee.

Because hubby doesn''t eat meat (daughter and I eat seafood/fish only), we have a limited selection. But, we also liked the soup and the bibimbap. We actually liked the veggie pancake more than the seafood pancake, which was a little surprising. Looking forward to going back and trying it out again. It's been a while so my memory is a little fuzzy on the details.

We at the Stone Pot tonight. Hadn't tried their other location so this was our first time there. I haven't had Korean food in so long, I don't have a basis for comparison, but we enjoyed it. We shared a kimchi pancake and each ordered a different bibimbap, which was too much food. The vegetables were fresh and colorful. I liked both dishes, could have stood it a bit spicier. The menu says you can ask for it spicier, which I will next time. We liked it enough that I'm sure there will be a next time.

We finally got to Stone Pot for dinner. The food was yummy, but the ambiance is basically depressing cafeteria. Plus the flatscreen had a rather annoying Korean TV program on the entire time. We'll go back, but I sure wish they would fix the place up a bit. Sheesh.

You're so right on these counts laura. Bad lighting and annoying TV have come to be things I try to ignore as best I can for the sake of good food. What are people thinking?
