  • s

I keep hearing about great cheap restaurants in strip malls on the Westside. Any recommendations?

  1. Check out Nook Neighborhood Bistro:

    Nook Neighborhood Bistro
    11628 Santa Monica Blvd, #9
at Barry, between Barrington and Federal
    Los Angeles
    (310) 207-5160

Yeh, the food is great. the place is tucked around the corner. Follow the big blue arrow

    2. Many of the restaurants on Sawtelle north of Olympic are in strip malls, while, in addition to the previously mentioned Nook Bistro, arguably the best chinese restaurant west of the 405 is JRs Seafood at 11901 Santa Monica Blvd.
Tlapazola Grill is in a strip mall at Pico and Gateway, while Guelaguetza is in a little larger project, yet in a line of stores on Palms and Sepulveda.

I would add Monte Alban (Santa Monica Blvd) and Raku (Olympic Blvd) to Carter's nice list.

what about mama voula's for greek in the same mini-mall as monte-alban along with a persian restaurant.

echigo in the mini-mall along sm blvd. near bundy.

all india cafe in a mini-mall also sm blvd.

can't think of anymore. there are loads in the hollywood area.

          hirozen on beverly.

      2. For nice "order at the counter, they call your name" Mexican food, try Eduardo's Border Grill in the strip mall on the east side of Westwood Blvd. just south of S.M. Blvd.

        1. Just discovered Kaido Japanese Cuisine in the Yale Center strip mall at 2834 Santa Monica Blvd. and Yale. Great, fresh food and really good prices for lunch and dinner. Check it out!

          1. El Pollo Inka for great Peruvian 11701 Wilshire Blvd

Versailles for Cuban 10319 Venice Blvd

Howard's Famous Bacon and Avocado Burger 11127 Venice Blvd.

I love Howard's too, but I can't figure out why. They use frozen pre-formed patties!

El Pollo Inka is long closed.

Oh! Sorry! What a shame. I hope the ones in the South Bay are still there.
