Thanksgiving dessert reco?
Can anyone reco a great place to reserve and pick up or ship desserts for Thanksgiving? I usually make everything from scratch but this year I have to trave (biz) up until the day. This is my favorite holiday and I am having 15 people over but I won't get home until 2 hours before the meal. I have recruited my children to shop, and stuff and bake the turkey but I don't know what to do for desserts. Suggestions?
Delessio has exceptional cakes and tarts. http://delessio.net/pages/bakery/cake...
I don't see any holiday details on the site yet, but they generally do a big business in holiday orders.

Where do you live?
If you're in the East Bay, you can get amazing pumpkin (and other) pies or tarts from Masse's Pastries, Crixa Cakes or Bakesale Betty. You can almost certainly pre-pay by phone, and have one of your kids pick up the dessert(s) on Wednesday. A pie or tart or two, coffe or tea, and some ice cream or homemade whipped cream and everyone will be happy.

For the past few years I have been asked to bring dessert to a Thanksgiving dinner in Berkeley. I bought wonderful pies at Nora's Patisserie on San Pablo in Colma. People loved the pies.

Nora's has wonderful breakfast pastries too. And comparatively inexpensive.
