New Restaurant in Last 2 years?
This is from a former NY'er now living in Southern California. I'll be back for several days in early December. I want to try some places that opened after summer of 2009, which is when I left the city. The only "new" place I have eaten at since then was ABC Kitchen, during a visit earlier this year. Price and location are not issues. Prefer no jacket requirement for men. Fancy or casual. Prefer American or Italian, but any type would be fine. Looking mainly for dinner places, probably for 4 people, but lunch or late-night recommendations would be appreciated as well. Again, this is for any good restaurant that opened in last 2 years.
For reference, the places I plan to re-visit are:
-Eleven Madison Park and Jean Georges for lunch with co-workers
-Katz's for pastrami (I haven't found anything close in LA area)
-Pearl Oyster Bar (always been a favorite of mine, will go if timing works out, hate waiting in line)
-Kati Roll for late night snack
Thanks for any recommendations.

In my view, Lincoln http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/809840
Perfect fancy without jacket requirement, Italian, and if you like EMP and JG I think this is perfect

If you can swing Pearl for lunch, that is always a good time to go.

I haven't been yet, but I plan to go to Maialino when I visit NYC in Dec. We seem to have similar tastes and experiences so I thought I'd chime in. Also here is a helpful list from the NYT (best restos of 2010):

re: pizzajunkie
Maialino is a good choice. They are open basically all day and if you can't get a reservation, they take walk-ins in the front room. All my experiences there have been quite good for lunch and dinner; brunch is fine but not amazing.
