ISO restaurant recs near Universal but not on City Walk

Looking for nice pre-concert dining that isn't on City Walk but close enough to Universal that we could enjoy a leisurely dinner while still getting to the show on time.

    Mantee on Ventura Blvd is pretty close to Universal Studios.

      Rustic Spoon on Lankershim has been consistently good. It's Thai fusion.
