Tucson - Frisee anyone?

Is A.J.'s the only place in town that has Frisee? It's a long drive for me and quite frankly I have seen bigger and better frisee. Tell me there are other places that carry it. Thanks.

  1. Which part of town do you live in? Have you called the Whole Foods on Speedway and that new big Safeway near Broadway (or Speedway?) near Campbell. Just my guesses...good luck!

I am West. Bashas', Fry's, Safeway, & Albertson's don't stock it, but Whole Foods will order it on a couple of days notice. I suppose a phone call isn't too much effort to get something.

No, that's not much effort for frisee, and to bring into Tucson.

Have you tried LeeLee? They have just about everything in produce. It's a\t Orange Grove and something- look it up on their web site. I would go there daily if i didn't live so far away

The season fro growing it is approaching, is that an option?

We struggle to grow cactus. We're terrible. We try to grow herbs without success. It sure doesn't feel like growing season. Getting cold in the desert.

      2. Welcome to Tucson where "good food" mostly has to be part of the memory you had when you arrived here. You might try Sprouts on Oracle Rd. but I'm not sure they'll have it. It will not be better than A.J.'s if they have it. It's a shame it's a perishable item or I'd tell you to try the internet.
