Pickles, Collingswood Auction & Flea Market, Farmingdale

jsfein Oct 10, 2011 10:49 AM

On my way back from Delicious Orchards this weekend, I took a short diversion to see if the Pickle Ladies (as my family affectionately calls them) were still in business at Collingswood Auction. If you don't mind the flea market environment, these are the best pickles around. The crunchy, bright green new pickles are addictive ... we just about finished a half-gallon container ($8) during the short ride home (next best I've had in NJ are at Harold's Deli). There is a large variety of pickles to choose from, as well as several other items. Worth a visit.

Seal, pretty sure Collingswood is a weekends only operation.

Technically, it's "Collingwood" No "S". I made that mistake myself for a long time. Last year they had expanded hours/days at Christmas time, but yes, usually only open on Friday, Saturday, Sunday.

Love, love, love those pickles. The only problem is Mr. Bean favors the new pickles, The Sprout goes for the full sours and I'm addicted to the sweet hot chips. We never leave without at least a quart of each.

But maybe even better than the pickles is the horseradish. It makes my eyes water just thinking about it.

Those sweet hot chips have got to be an acquired taste. Bought some last year and I couldn't get more than one down. The Mrs., however, loved them.
