Has anyone been to dinner at Tasca on 3rd Street? I don't think they have a liquor license yet and I am wondering if it is BYOB right now...i haven't been able to get anyone on the phone at the restaurant.

We walked by on Fri, 4.21, evening and popped in. No liquor license yet...the owner was over the top gracious and their menu looks interesting.
What do you or anyone else for that matter know about Tasca?

Tasca will have their licence any day now, but you can bring your own and the food is great and super affordable. I'm a fan of the short ribs and the apple tart myself. Reminds of neigborhood spots in NYC and Europe. Great addition to the tired cafes on 3rd.

I LOVE Tasca. The owners are so nice and the food is GREAT! I have been there at least 15 times for breakfast and always leave feeling full and good. The menu has great options and I am always confused at to why anyone would wait to eat at Toast where the food is medeocre at best when you can eat at Tasca.
I have also been a few times for lunch, but never for dinner. I will have to check it out.
I suggest everyone go! It is awesome!

Ok, so because of the postings on Tasca, I thought I ought to try it out for dinner. I had been so many times for breakfast and lunch as I posted above and so tonight, I went for dinner.

I walked in and one of the owner I used to see when I came for breakfast came and gave me a hug. I asked how things were going, she said great. The place was empty, but it was just 7pm. My friends and I sat down and they made room for the stroller. (I brought my baby out for the night and he was sleeping)
I started with the chicken liver mousse and it was amazing! Creamy and yummy and perfect! I had the steak for dinner but had mushrooms rather than french fries. My steak was cooked perfectly and the mushrooms were great!
One of my friends had the tossed salad and loved it and also had the chicken and was very happy. My other friend created her own salad and they were more than happy to make what she wanted. They went out of their way to make her the perfect salad she wanted and even brought out a plate of just beets when she asked for more.
One friend had the grilled fruit for dessert while the rest of us skipped dessert. (I have been working out extra hard this week and didn't want to eat all of the yummy stuff after eating so much for dinner)
We left at a little after 9pm and the entire place was full! All of the tables and the bar and even a few of the tables out on 3rd street. I was so happy for them!!!!
The owners are really nice people and the food is great, I will go back over and over as I have been doing since they opened.
