Went there today and tried it out. Overall it was pretty good; almost all of the negatives were due to an obviously new waitress. She came over often to check on us, so she was trying, but made some puzzling mistakes:
Brought the drinks over with no ice, ok, rookie mistake. Brought the appetizer but no plates to use; we had to take turns eating over the appetizer plate.
Took 20 minutes to get the check after we asked. I understand that food takes time to cook, but how on earth does it take 20 minutes for the check with there were 6 customers total?
Stood there and waited while we got the money together, not so bad, but also stood there and waited after bringing back our change. She stood there by the table and waited while we worked out the tip. What the hell was that about? We waited 20 minutes for the check, and she can't walk 15 feet away and give us a couple of minutes to do the tip? I figure she just didn't know any better because she's new to waitressing. Does she not eat out?Anyway, besides that: the food was pretty good overall. The pulled pork sliders were fantastic, everything else was fine. Pretty expensive, though. I don't want to spend $14 on fried fish or chicken when I can get a great ethnic lunch elsewhere for $6 or $7. Even the lunch specials were $10 or $11, too much to spend on a regular basis. At that price I'll maybe go back every few months for a change of pace. For regular daily lunch I want $5-8. Still, a mostly positive experience.
