Know where can I find frozen hominy in CT?

I googled and failed to find any. Stop & Shop sells Goya's canned white hominy--mote blanco--but I've never seen it frozen. Have you? And does it come in a similarly sized package (15 oz.) like the can?

    1. hey katty- you might find it labeled "posole" at a Latin market.

Hi--yes, that's true, but have you seen it anywhere frozen or just canned? I'll keep an eye out and report back if I find it. Thanks!

I get the canned posole at Whole Foods, but I wonder if Trader Joe's might have it frozen?

Hmmm...I don't get there often, but I'll definitely check when I'm up that way. Good idea!

Nope, I checked TJ's yesterday. They do have frozen roasted corn if that's up anyone's alley!

I looked at 2 Whole Foods, Fresh Market and Fairway within the last week (no, I didn't make special trips- I'm good, but not THAT good!) and no luck so far. I do intend to hit a couple of latin markets and maybe the C-town in Bridgeport fairly soon, too.

        2. I've had the dried posole from Rancho Gordo via mail order. Very good but then I have never had fresh and don't care for tinned taste.

          1. I've never seen it frozen, but Fresh Market has the dried that you have to cook. It's delicious and so much better than the canned.

            1. I suggest trying some of the Mexican grocers in South Norwalk. You can order it online at
