Help! Need recs for restaurants with yummy abundant mussels in SF.

a friend is coming in from florida this weekend and mentioned mussels as her choice for saturday nite dinner. will go anywhere in SF. any recs? ithanks

      I haven't been for a while, but that's the signature dish at Plouf. They have a choice of half a dozen different preparations.

              I prefer to sit inside, most of the tables outside are too slanted.

          Globe serves up mussels and they're open late (1 a.m.),

            There have been some major downhill reports about Globe since the chef left and was not replaced.

            I think Absinthe's are better than Plouf's. You might enjoy the al fresco near union square thing, give plouf a try, but if you want cocktails and a classic bar, head over to Absinthe.

            (What I didn't like about Plouf in several visits is the relative tastelessness of the broths; could have been bad days)
