Moving to Newport News/Hampton/Virginia beach any recommendations???
We are about to move to the Newport News area and would love to have recommendations!! Highlights in Thai/Chinese please (my husband is sooo picky!) and basically anything and everything :) Thanks in advance!
While there are many excellent dining choices on the Peninsula, since you prefer Thai / Chinese I highly recommend Thaijindesu in the Port Warwick development. Thai is my favorite cuisine, and this place does an excellent job with Thai staples like soups, curries, and noodles, but also frequently offers imaginative specials that are very pleasing. The restaurant features a Thai and Japanese menu including sushi as well as Japanese appetizers and entrees. This is a locally owned restaurant with a second location recently opened in Williamsburg. Other Thai selections worthy of a try are Thai Erwan in Hampton, Gah Bua Kham in Hampton, and, if you don't mind a 30-minute drive, Emerald Thai in Williamsburg, as well as Bangkok Thai. Also in Williamsburg is another locally owned favorite, Moon Asian Bistro, featuring asian fusion including well prepared Thai and the best Chinese in the area in my opinion. I also like Ichiban in Williamsburg for decent Chinese. Another good Thai a short drive away is Pattaya Thai Cuisine in Yorktown. Unlike a few years ago, you will find no shortage of good Thai in the area. Good Chinese is unfortunately lacking.
