Just saw an add for this. Any good?

I had some Devil's Cut recently. I won't be buying another bottle.

Was there any one (or few) reasons you didn't like it? I have never been overly impressed with Jim Beam's other offerings, so it wouldn't surprise me that this one isn't great either ...

I like Beam products myself, both the white label, the black, and the rye.

I should have qualified that I don't mind the rye ....

The guys behind Devil's Cut have a new start-up making a bourbon called Angel's Envy. I'm interested to see what it tastes like for such a young bourbon.

Where did you hear that there is any relation between the people making the two? I haven't found any reference other than the similarity in the names.

Angel's Envy has been around a year or so longer than devils cut.

There is no relation between the two. Devil's Cut is a Jim Beam product. Angel's Envy is from a new company called Louisville Distilling which is run by Lincoln Henderson, formerly of Brown Forman.

I should've been more clear, but Sku is right...the only relation is the play on the "angel's share" of the whiskey.

I bought a mini bottle of this a while back. I found it a little more interesting than the standard Beam Black (of which I am not a fan), makes it taste like a Bourbon aged more than 6 years though the wood was a lttle out of balance. If you like a lot of wood in your Bourbon I would say give it a try.
