Danny's Steakhouse Red Bank ?

Went there recently before going to Count Basie Th..
The Potterhouse steak was the high lite .The sides were good but not great .The real Down side was the service was so SLOW and young ( ! hr 40 min ) that it made the meal painful. Was this just an aberration or is this the norn @ this joint ?
Another down side were mixed drinks were $9 !!!

      I would never wait that long for any meal...especially an overpriced steak house...no excuse for 1hr 45min...I would have been gone after 30 min waiting.

        To be clear ..got in right away.., but ,the time includes ordering,having a drink ,getting the dinner and eating ...After ordering waited about an hour to recieve the meal

          Thats says to me they want you to wait and keep ordering drinks at absurd prices until the meal finally comes out..I'm sorry but for me I wouldn't wait that long after ordering..its says bad kitchen management & service.

            That could be. Or it could be that the kitchen just can't keep up or doesn't have its timing down. Neither is good, but I wouldn't assume the former. There was a BYO near me that was known for loooong waits and looong meals. Clearly profits from booze weren't part of the calculus.

              How long could an aged expensive steak take to cook rare at 800 degrees? Just sayin'...

                I've never owned a restaurant, but I know enough about the workings of restaurants to understand that the dynamic of timing goes beyond how long it takes to cook a steak to rare. YMMV.

            Was DSH packed with theatre customers at the time, big1515? Because our recent experience at Dish/RB required waiting 45 mins for three simply prepared entrees and as a BYOB we had to pace the wait with table talk. Sadly, the meal was a huge disappointment but the restaurant wasn't even close to being busy that night. Is this waiting some sort of "add to the experience/expectation" ploy?

              Did you have apps and dessert? For a full meal with multiple courses, I expect it to take an hour and a half to two hours. But if you only had entrees, then that's another story.

                If you're asking me about our Dish experience, just three entrees and a few glasses of tea. That's it. No app, disliked two out of three of the entrees, so we didn't bother spending $$ on dessert...still waited far too long.

                If you're asking big1515, I would be curious to know as well.

                  Oh, I had intended the question for big--but your experience is good to know too. We go down to shore restaurants sometimes, and any intel is appreciated!
