good eats around Convention Center

Hi- We're staying around the Convention Center, where we'll be attending a conference most of next week. Looking for good cheap eats nearby... ideally walking distance...

  1. Chinatown is a good bet. Try Beijing near the corner of La Gauchetiere & St-Urbain. 5 min. walk from the Palais des Congres and they have lunch specials.

    1. Yikes, I'm cutting it close this time to start my foodie research. I'm very interested in seeing recommendations. There are going to be hordes of people (including me) at this conference who will be looking for lunch in walking distance of the convention center! And we'll be stuck doing that for 5 straight days!

Not to worry, fortunately this question gets asked a lot. ;-) Here are some other threads to check out:

Quick, cheap lunch recs. near Palais des Congrès

Quite casual dining near Palais de Congres?

Lunch for 5 days around the Palais

dinner after 10 pm - Convention Center / Old Montreal

usually when at a convention you dont want to walk too far, we used to go to hotel intercontinental across the street where there is entrance into small mall area for quick service, there used to be several choices but I have not gone recently. It will be less busy than the restaurants, fast food places attached to convention centre but still busy with office workers. The trick is to head there fast as soon as lunch break arrives.

you can click on virtual tour to get an idea of whats there

Then in the evening you can venture further afield, walking distance to some old montreal restaurants.
