Corporate Event - Gas Lamp District
Hi Chowhounds! I need some help finding a venue for my group of 150 for a Saturday in March. Budget is about $100 per person inclusive of drinks and food. I would like a private room, but doesn't have to be. I know Saturday's are hard - especially since it is St. Patrick's Day! What is the weather like in March? Can I consider an outside venue? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Group is staying at the Westgate, so I would like to be close to there, no more than a five minute car ride or walking distance is best. THANKS FOR ANY HELP!!!

Might be tough to plan a private dinner for 150 on St. Patrick's Day at the usual spots that are recommended on this board. There's a company called Restaurant Events that helps plan corporate events in the Gaslamp. Maybe you could contact them and they could help you get squared away at the Westgate or any of the other spots Beach Chick mentioned.

Westgate hotel like Cathy suggested is a great idea..
USS Midway on the bayfront has private events
Hornblower Cruise of San Diego
Jsix at the Hotel Solamar is lovely
US Grant Hotel next door to the WestgateMarch is usually rainy but it's San Diego...anything can happen...have fun and report back!

A good portion of the Gaslamp Quarter is fenced off for the annual St. Patrick's ShamROCK Festival. 2012 will be the 16th annual.

I would suggest you ask if they can accomodate your group at the Westgate, which has the area for conferences.
