Italian restaurant in Scarborough/Markham area?

A few friends and I are looking for a good Italian restaurant in the Markham/Scarborough area. Any suggestions? Would prefer a place with moderate prices, if possible!

  1. In Scarborough, Remezzo at Warden and Sheppard. Also Pizza Nova at Kennedy and Lawrence has a dining room.

Noooooooooooooo, don't do it. Don't send them to EITHER one of those places. Good lord, their friends will DUMP them.

There's only one Italian restaurant in Scarborough worth going to nowadays. That's Fratelli Village Pizzeria. Wonderful food in a cute, rustic room. Even the plaza it's in is adorable. I haven't had a bad dish yet so feel free to order at will.

They only accept reservations for parties of 8 or more (I wag my finger at you Sal), but it's well worth the wait. You can expect to hang around the front or at the bar for 20-30 minutes if you go on the weekend during peak hours. I'm hoping they introduce the "call your cell when the table's ready" policy so people can wait at the pub across the street at least.

I know this is old but just has to replay...incase Fratelli's ever reopens. One time my hubby and I were going out and the wait was long as usual. They asked us if we lived close by and we said yes so they told us we could just go home and would call us when our table was ready. I think it was cold too so it was wonderful to just chill at home and wait for our table. Hope they reopen soon....I want my Victorian Pizza darn it.

I have to apologize to you, T Long, and Remezzo. I think I was still experiencing downtown hangover. I had forgotten how simple and unchallenging are sometimes just the thing. More later.
