Where to find Crawfish next week??
HI Chowhounders! I'll be in NOLA next week and was looking forward to a crawfish boil, but found out it's out of season =( Boo!
Does anyone have any idea where I can get some crawfish????

I just walked by the Alpine Restaurant on Chartres and there was a sign outside for boiled crawfish. That's all I know as there was no price and I've never tasted them there.

On both of its Mon-Fri lunch and dinner menus, the Bon Ton offers Crawfish Etouffee, Bisque, Jambalaya, fried tails with Alzina sauce and an entire Crawfish dinner. Bon Ton is great.
Unfortunately no good boiled crawfish available this time of year.

I noticed today that the Alpine on Chartres St. is advertising boiled crawfish for $7.99/lb. I don't endorse this restaurant, in fact quite the opposite, and god knows where they're getting them, but they claim to have them.

Your best bet is to have it in a dish rather than boiled. For instance, went to Liuzza's by the Track for lunch Saturday. They had crawfish etouffee as a special, probably used frozen La. crawfish tails. But that's better than Chinese crawfish! Never would've known the crawfish weren't in season, delicious dish. Other places around town still feature crawfish, though it's out of boiled season.
