Maialino for 40th B-Day - Where is the pig?

I am going to Maialino for a close friends 40th birthday. I checked the menu and I cannot find the whole suckling pig. Do I have to order this in advance? Any other must have dishes?

IIRC they can/do run out of it on a given day. If you have an 8PM rez, probably not a concern... 9:00 or 9:30... maybe

The Maialino Al Forno is now a daily special. Definitely call and ask about it in advance.

Also when I've had it, it was not the entire pig. Loin, belly, ribs and shoulder, but not head or tail or feet.

As kathryn says, it is not the whole pig. And it comes with roasted potatoes. As far as how many it will feed, that depends on the size of your appetites and how many other dishes (apps, pastas, sides, desserts) you order. We've done it with three people and with four. In both cases, there was not a morsel left.

ETA: Even when it was listed on the menu, when I called to reserve, I told the reservationist that we wanted it so that they'd be sure to put one aside for us.

We've ordered it a an entree after some starters and pastas and had enough to take home for a light lunch afterwards. So, yes, I'd say about 3 people dependent upon how big your appetites are.

Well there are only 2 of us but I cant let that deter me from ordering it. I am thinking the Octopus, Cauiliflower and the Pig, saving room for desert.

When we were there, they also had a smaller portion for 2 - worked out well since there were just two of us! It was still generously sized, and quite delicious.
