    As for St-Sauveur, I don't have a clue.

    1. Onion Soup has become "old School" for restaurants today so I would say that Gibby's in St Sauveur would be the spot.

      1. I really enjoy the Onion Soup Gratinée at Au Pied de Cochon. Piping hot with a thick cheese topping, rich onion broth with bits of pork I think. Best onion soup I have ever had.

Yup, agree with loosia, ADPC's soup is the best I've had. They use pork stock and beer instead of wine (plus pork bits, yes).

I love classic French onion soup and I must admit that I found the APDC's version underwhelming, mainly because the flavour seemed so diluted from all the additional ingredients and tinkering.

        2. My vote goes to Le Mas des Oliviers on Bishop for traditional French onion soup

I had a fantastic onion soup at M sur Masson last year after visiting the Chinese Lantern festival in the botanical gardens. I presume it's still on the menu.

          2. Not in Saint Sauveur but at exit 76 (Val-David) the Creperie Tournesol has the best onion soup i've had anywhere near Montreal.
