is Lorena's in Maplewood closed?

I've been trying to make a reservation for the last 3 days, though I can only get the fax machine to pick up. I've emailed but no response. Doe anyone know its status?

  1. I'm guessing they are closed on Sunday and Monday, although, I have been there for brunch on Sunday. I know that they are not open for lunch, but guessing you sould get through sometime today if you try after 4PM. I would say with 100% confidence that they are not closed...great place! -mJ

      Acc. to their website, they are not closed on Sundays. Only on Mondays. The info states that one should call for a reservation after 12 p.m., Tues. - Sun.

      If sixelagogo is getting a fax machine, that sounds as though s/he may not have the correct phone number.

        I called the number I always call (973) 763-4460 twice and each time it rang forever (lost count at 20) and eventualy a fax machine picked up

        Hopefully just a phone system issue

          That is the correct number, so it does sound as though they're having some sort of phone glitch, though why a fax machine eventually picks up is a mystery.

          However, even though they don't usually accept reservations via email, one would think they'd at least answer an email inquiry, presuming sixelagogo made it clear that there is something wrong with the phone and explained what's been happening.

            I finally got through & was able to secure a reservation...she said they don't have a fax line & it's a Verizon issue that they've had for the last year...(grrrr- that's gotta hurt them) Hope it's good (it's an anniversary dinner) & i will report back

              I walked by there a few days ago and it looked like they were painting and doing some renovations. Maybe that was your problem?

                a great restaurant, glad to hear they are ok.

    2. I ate there a week ago and it was excellent.

      They told me they are in the process of doing various upgrades to the decor. (The most recent were the window treatments.) In the past few weeks they have been closed not only on their customary Monday, but also sometimes on Tuesday and even Wednesday, in order to do this work. The message on their main phone number always indicated the latest status. So I suggest phoning rather than faxing or emailing.
