Tersiguel's--Elicott City--opinion please
Recently dined at this quaint, very romantic restaurant. Had not been there in a few years. Only on account of not living in this area.
Well, we were greeted very warmly and seated at a very lovely table. The service was impeccable. The bread service was delicious as was the greatest butter.
The wine selection per glass was reasonably priced and the Merlot was quite nice.
Now, what is my point? I want to love this restaurant. I can't explain in detail why I was a bit disappointed. Perhaps because I was comparing it to King's Contirvance and the Elkridge Furnance Inn-where our dinners were more impressive.
The duck entree was mediocre, but loved the accompanying vegetables. That is one of the greatest point of this restaurant--the accompanying vegetables. But, then again, Sotto Sopra does amazing vegetable accompaniments.
My frogs legs were delicious and loved the sides of chopped tomatoes with garlic and those great vegetables.
I just want to figure out why I wasn't WOWED by this establishment. It has all of the factors to be a great destination and/or local dining venue. It is pricey compared to other restaurants that I usually dine out. It's up there in price point with Fleming's--Sotto Sopra, Tio Pepe's and Prime Rib. So, I need some advice on why I wasn't impressed enough to make a return in the near future as I have done so with the Elkridge Furnance Inn and other places.

I don't know the answer to your question, FoiGras except to say we feel the same way. We know the Tersiguel family and they are wonderful, giving, caring, talented people. We used to go to the restaurant quite a bit, we live 10 miinutes away, and now we just don't. The overall experience has always been good, as you experienced (yes ! what is with that wonderful butter??? where do they get it I wonder??) There is nothing WRONG with the food, we simply aren't WOWED by the experience as you said. We used to be, and I don't know what has changed that.
