50th Birthday Dinner for 2 Couples from Maine!

We have two couples from Maine visiting to celebrate 50th birthdays. They'd like some place with a very lively atmosphere, good food, and so on. I think about $50 a person or so would be ok. (Any type of food ok; just about any part of town ok too.) Any ideas for something fun? I'd appreciate any suggestions. They're counting on me to come up with a good idea. Oh the pressure!

There's some flexibility there. . . I guess $50 before tax and tips and drinks is ok---but less works as well! I will appreciate any ideas!

Nuela is the only restaurant on your list that we've been to. Based on what foggybottom is looking for, I agree it's a good choice. The arroz con pato is not-to-be-missed!

Tertulia is very lively but for a party of four you'll have a long wait as they JUST received a New York Times review (2 stars). No reservations unless you're 6 or more people.
