Sushi in Madison???

Visiting our daughter in early November and she is really missing the great sushi of Los Angeles. Don't expect Los Angeles quality but what is the best Madison has to offer?

  1. There's another thread on this subject (http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/535550), but a few places have opened/moved since then.

My personal favorite for sushi is Takumi, on the east side near the East Towne Mall. Good prices, open late, nice quality. Both traditional rolls and wacky combo rolls are worth exploring.

Sushi Muramoto (in the Hilldale Shopping Center) and Restaurant Muramoto (downtown on King St.) are high-quality affairs. The salmon skin roll at Sushi Muramoto is a knock-out.

Some folks, including food critics, really like Wasabi (it's above State Street); I haven't been there yet, so I can't speak to it.

Takara is all right, and Red Sushi is new but getting positive press.
