Catering and Delivery in Financial District

  • 8

I need to plan an office party in the Financial District of San Francisco. We are looking at having the party catered and would prefer that the caterer had delivery capabilities as well. We are leaning towards a mexican theme, but are not married to that idea. The biggest criteria is that the food is good, and diferent from the run-of-the-mill sandwiches that are orderd for every "working lunch". I originally called La Palma, but they don't deliver. Any suggestions that anyone has or experiences they wanted to share would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

  1. Not Mexican, but my sister's company uses Tryptich to cater for company lunches (for working lunch, not parties). They serve hot food, not sandwiches. She's always saying it is really good. May want to check out the pretty diverse menu: http://www.triptychsf.com/catering.html.

    1. Also not Mexican, but Barbacco does catering.

230 California St, San Francisco, CA 94111

      1. Maya to Go does catering. I've only eaten there. The tacos are huge and delicious; upgrade to the handmade tortillas.

        1. Tlaloc and Orale Orale are my go-to's in the financial.

          1. Yank Sing does on-site catering (both locations). I don't know about delivery.

            1. Hate to sound like a broken record but Ann Walker Catering Does great and unusual Mexican. She and her husband wrote a book on cooking with Tequila. Caterers is probable the way to go when it comes to delivery, the food will be plattered and or set up for you along with plates etc.. if desired. You could also call Nopalito http://www.nopalitosf.com/ they cater as well.

              1. How about New Orleans food? Queen's Louisiana does more catering than they do cafe business, I believe. The gumbo is fabulous, as is everything else I've tried on their menu. Not sure if the po' boys are part of the catering (does the fried food stay good? or the fry on site??) but I imagine they'd let you know. I had an outstanding catfish po' boy last week from them. Wow. They are the nicest people to boot.

                1. Askew Grill does a good job catering and for something different. A sales rep use to bring it to the office. I thought meh...but for a catered lunch it's actually good and different.

On that note, you might look for Mediterranean catering, kabob, like Truly Mediterranean or Oasis Grill. Kabobs and all the Middle Eastern sides are different. There's usually something for everyone, even vegheads.
