Fast Gourmet - anyone?

Ugly website, but intriguing menu, and reasonable prices. I'll be going soon, but would like to hear from anyone who's already eaten there.

  1. Isn't that the gas station with the Cuban sandwiches and Chevitos? It's been discussed quite a bit here, nearly all favorable reports.

    1. First visit: Must order the chivito. Second visit, the cubano.

Agreed! The tuna sandwich is mighty fine as well. Fresh chucks of grilled tuna, currants, light mayo. I want to like the eggplant fries, but they always seem to just be hollowed our fry... Overall a great place!

      2. Anyone been recently for a chivito? Is it as good as it ever was?

It is close to being as good as it ever was except that the egg got overcooked. The only difference. Thst could have been a one-off, of course, but if I go back I'll ask about that specifically. Also, the Cubano was as good as ever.

        2. I can vouch for it still likely being the best gas station food in DC. The Cubano is the closest thing to what you can get in Miami, but you have to ask for mustard for some reason instead of it being standard.
