mid-scale Mexican food Glenside area?

We've lived here a yr. now and have found great places to go for many things - Vietnamese, Thai, Chinese, salads/sandwiches, etc. But we've yet to find a good Mexican place. Don't want fast food but don't want too upscale, either - rather, somewhere we'd want to go on a weeknight after work when we're too tired to cook. Suggestions, anyone?

Thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately, it would be an extremely rare day that I could make it to Cantina Feliz on a work day by 5:30. But maybe we'll try there on a weekend! I'll have to try the other two. Thanks again.

I agree you are going to have to drive. My recommendation is Taqueria La Michoacana in Norristown. The food is quite good but skip the margaritas. We also like Tamarindo's in Blue Bell, and El Sarapes in Horsham.

Some of the best mexican in the area is taqueria la morena in Hatboro. Its not fast food, you can eat in and BYO, but its definitely on the low-end of mid-scale (if that makes any sense)! A bit higher end (but definitely not upscale) is Tamarindo's in Blue Bell, that used to be our go-to mid-week dinner spot (before kids!). BYO, free margaritas, really good food. On the upscale side is Cantina Feliz in Fort Washington, great food and margaritas, nice happy hour, and I heard they are running a mid week prix fixe menu.

Its a three course prix fixe meal from 3-5:30 choice of seven appetizers, seven entrees and dessert. Not a bad meal ... or even a bad late lunch.

Can't help you in Glenside but if you can scoot over to Plymouth Meeting, try Plaza Azteca at Germantown & Plymouth.

+1 for Plaza Azteca. Cheap meals and very very good. Exactly what the OP is looking for. Definitely a drive from Glenside though.
