Plymouth - Last Minute Birthday Dinner

Hi - Going to Plymouth tomorrow for a game for DS. Grandma offered to take us out to dinner afterward for my birthday. I don't know Plymouth very well (live near Concord) and am in need of advice. Some requirements: 1) Don't know exactly when the game will be over, so it should be someplace where we can walk in around mid-afternoon without a reservation; 2) main plates should not be over $15 or Grandma will get severe sticker shock; 3) either in Plymouth or north and 4)Grandma is a very OCD eater and food should be either Italian or somewhere with broiled or baked fish. I know I have a lot of qualifiers but going out to eat with Grandma is not easy. Thank you.

Thank you very much for the suggestions - did not go as Grandma withdrew her offer of dinner after the game, but will keep them in mind for the future.

Patrizia's on Water St. is pretty good. Italian cuisine, reasonably priced. Last time I was there they had a fabulous asparagus soup.

I use to enjoy Camilla's, Haven't been there for a while but it was always packed and had great food. There use to be entertainment there on Friday nights too.

I believe you're refering to Mama Carmella's in Kingston. At the risk of being labeled a bitter food snob (see Alden Park above) I will dip a toe in the water again and dismiss Carmella's outright as chow worthy. Maybe 10 years ago but not anymore. As far as entertainment goes I believe Keno and trivia nights are all they currently offer. The last time I was dragged there I was served green pork, not in a Mexican way either.

Alden Grille in Old Colony Mall is very good atmosphere and food and prices are fair.

Alden Park at Colony Place? I respectfully disagree. Pseudo American bistro fare where the menu reads great but the food is mediocre at best. Situated in a lifestyle mall with the atmosphere of a J.Jill. Formerly Croma, they changed little except to add blue neon lights and a DJ with two turn tables and a microphone on Fri and Sat nights. You can find better within a few miles and your car won't get dinged up by stray shopping carts. Besides, this rec would not have been appropriate for the OP's needs. I think their prices are pretty steep for the quality (gassed tuna...blech).

Thank you for the suggestions. Can't make myself go to Isaac's (after googling it), it's painful enough that I'm another year older but to celebrate it there would be adding insult to injury. I looked at Ernie's and it will do. Price is right, it has Italian food (and, apparantly "the best senior discount in Plymouth"!) and a kids' menu. Thanks again!

It' been awhile since I've been in Plymouth, but I liked Ernie's well enough. Mamma Mia's may be an option as well. I was happy with the pasta there.

Hate this recommendation but she probably wants to go to Issac's. Not good at all, but she'll know half the customers. Second choice would be Ernie's, same deal but more Italian choices and similarly cheap.
